I remember as I started my journey in real estate, countless people would say, “make sure you sell a lot in the Spring & Summer, the winter months are tough in real estate”, or “no one likes to move in the Winter, so expect it to be slow”. At the time, I believed them. I thought oh no, just as I start getting my foot in the door the Winter months will come & I’ll have no business! What am I going to do?
Its January, January 10, 2018 to be exact, we’ve been fighting off -5 degree temperatures & frigid wind-chill. It is COLD, but guess what? I currently have three different buyers, all pre-approved and ready to buy their next home, and our only issue… there’s NO inventory! You don’t have to be an expert, a real estate agent or have any clue about real estate in general to understand supply & demand. As supply declines, demand goes up, people want what isn’t out there, in this case… YOUR HOME!
So, I started to think, how many people are considering the idea of moving? You need an extra bedroom, your husband, wife, boyfriend or roommates clothing is currently in the hall closet, and you need space for all the new things you accumulated from the holidays. Does this sound familiar? It’s time to sell your home. In fact, there is no better time than right now, and here’s three reasons why. Read More
Wow. It's taken me a few tries to sit down and start writing this thing, for a couple of reasons. Every time I'd open my computer my brain would start thinking of the 5,000 "resolutions" I should be coming up with & all the changes I want to make for the new year. Or, I would start to recap the year and get sidetracked looking at pictures from travels, and shoots, and who know's what.
But here I am, and boy am I glad I waited. They say this week, you know the one between Christmas & New Years is one of the oddest weeks of the year. I couldn't agree more. Do you start your "resolutions" early? Do you binge on everything you say you aren't going to do starting January 1st. It's extremely hard to go back to work for a few days, to be off again. It's just kinda off. And if your weather is anything like it is here in Kansas City, you really just wanna stay home, cuddle up by the fire and NEVER LEAVE. (currently feels like it's -50 outside) Read More
Recently I have been catching myself thinking, there is not enough time in the day to accomplish everything I need to do. My to-do lists often carry over into the next day, then the next, and eventually get lost in the bottom of my purse, never to be found again. Between starting my own real estate business, pouring my heart and dedication into the blog, working with clients (whom I absolutely adore), and oh yeah, still trying to maintain somewhat of a personal life. Yet each night I climb into bed (way too late), the 50 things I didn’t accomplish are running through my head. I then wake up and do it all over again.
A work-life balance, what a fantastic idea, in theory. But I didn’t want it to be just a theory, I wanted to master this idea of owning a successful business, while living each day to its upmost potential. So, I’ve put together a few tips & tricks I have begun using in my daily life, in order to achieve this balance. On a side note, the only babies/ children we have is our fur-baby silver lab, Duke, who is the size of a small child & needs bathed as often as most children, however I am in no way an expert in this area. Mom’s (or dad's) I do hope these tips can be used in your daily life as well & would love to hear your ideas and thoughts on this subject! Read More
Well here it is. My first ever published blog post. A long time coming, but for sure worth the wait!
What better place to start then letting you (my fabulous readers) have a look into WHY I chose Real Estate.
I have always felt incredibly blessed with a loving family, friends & handsome boyfriend who have showered me with love & support. Except I never felt completely fulfilled, something was missing. (Cliché I know, but hear me out!). This was me. Two months ago. Seems like forever ago now that I start to write about it, but such a short amount of time to make such a big change! Read More
